From 2/9/2016 to 7/9/2016

1st day

Arrival to Kos airport. Transfer from the airport to the port Mastichari of Kos after a 10 minute route and boarding on the boat for Kalymnos, trip duration 30 minutes. From the port of Kalymnos we will take the bus to the hotel to check in. Free schedule.

2nd Day Kalymnos: Pilgrimage St. Savvas – All blessed Saints – Saint Catherine

Breakfast at the hotel and departure by bus to visit the Church of St. Savvas of Kalymnos. The magnificent temple of St. Savvas ‘the miraculous’, is located just above the port of Pothia and is decorated with icon paintings of special artistic value and quality. Inside the church are religiously kept the holy relics of St. Savvas, which the visitors can worship. Then we will visit the Monastery of All blessed Saints, which had the blessing to host two Holy figures of Orthodoxy, its founder, monk Ierotheos Kourounis in the late 19th century and Saint Savvas of Kalymnos in early last century. Finally, we will visit the Monastery of St. Catherine at Vothynous of Kalymnos. After that, we will return at the hotel at noon and free schedule will follow.

3rd Day Kalymnos: Sightseeing Christ of Jerusalem – Remote monasteries of the island by bus

Breakfast at the hotel and departure by bus to visit the Holy Temple of Christ of Jerusalem. This church is characterized as a three-aisled early Christian basilica and is built with ancient building material of the Ionic Temple of Delian Apollo. According to tradition, this temple was built by Saint Helen or by Arcadius upon their return from Jerusalem in the 5th AD century. Afterwards will follow tour by bus to the remote monasteries and churches of the island. We will make a stop in the area Vathi of Kalymnos to enjoy the beautiful harbor of Rina.  In the afternoon, we will return at the hotel and free schedule will follow.

4th Day: Kalymnos – Patmos

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Transfer by bus to the port of Kalymnos and travel by ferry for the island of Patmos, trip duration one hour and thirty minutes. Arrival, check in at the hotel and free schedule.

5th Day Patmos: Sightseeing Cave of the Apocalypse – Monastery of St. John the Theologian – Monastery of the Annunciation – Monastery of the Life Giving Spring

Breakfast at the hotel and departure by bus to visit the Cave of the Apocalypse and to worship the monastery of St. John the Theologian. The sacred Cave is located in the middle distance of the road that leads from Skala to Chora. In this Cave that lived John with his student and assistant Prochoros, John wrote the Apocalypse, the last important book of the Holy Bible. Next follows pilgrimage to the Sacred Monastery of the Life Giving Spring, in the southwest of the Grand Monastery. Finally, we will visit the Monastery of the Annunciation which is located in the southwest of Chora and it was built in 1613 by the monk of the great Monastery Nikiforos. The foundation of the monastery dates back to 1936 by the monk and spiritual Amfilochios Makris. After that, we will return at the hotel at noon and free schedule will follow.

6th Day: Patmos – Kos

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Departure by bus for the port of Patmos. We will travel by ferry to Kos, trip duration two hours and fifteen minutes. Transfer from the port of Kos to the airport by bus to take the return flight.

Price until 31/10/2016: €490 (the price refers to groups of minimum fifteen persons)

• All transfers by bus mentioned in the program
• Escort / Head for tours (for groups under fifteen persons there will be an extra charge for the Escort)
• All overnight stays in hotels with breakfast and one meal per day
• Free entrance to the monasteries – churches

* The final program will be formed according to the dates and the hours of arrival and departure from Kos airport.
